Questions about windshield protection film

It works by giving your glass a clear, sacrificial layer that absorbs the impact of stones and road debris before they can chip or crack the windshield. On the highway, where most windshield damage comes from, that makes a real difference. We will be straight with you though: it greatly reduces the risk of chips and cracks, but no film can guarantee your glass against every rock or every impact.
It is designed to be optically clear and nearly invisible once it is on, so you should not notice it when you look through the glass. A careful, bubble-free install is what keeps the view clean, which is why we take our time with it.
A quality optically clear film is made to keep your view crisp, so it should not affect night visibility or add glare from oncoming headlights. You are still looking through the same clear glass, just with a protective layer over top.
The film is optically clear and sits on the outside of the glass, so your forward camera and driver-assist systems read right through it, the same way they already read through the windshield. The key is a precise install around the camera area, which is exactly why it is worth having an authorized installer do the work. If your vehicle is loaded with driver-assist features, tell us and we will make sure everything is accounted for.
Rain sensors read through the glass from the inside, while the film goes on the outside, so a properly fitted film should not interfere with how it works. We account for the sensor area during the install so everything keeps functioning the way the factory intended.
Yes. A good optically clear film is thin and made not to distort a heads-up projection, so your display should read normally. Let us know your vehicle has a HUD when you come in and we will confirm the right film for it.
No, your wipers work as they normally would. Quality film has a tough topcoat that stands up to the blades, and keeping your wipers clean and in good shape helps the film last longer.
It depends on the film and how hard you are on it, but a quality film generally gives you a few years of protection before it is worth refreshing. Highway kilometres, weather, and how often it takes a hit all play a part. Because it is a sacrificial layer, you can simply replace it once it has done its job.
That is exactly the idea. The film takes the hit so your windshield does not, and once it has absorbed enough damage we peel it off and put on a fresh layer. Replacing the film is far cheaper and easier than replacing sensor-laden glass.
Especially so. Modern windshields packed with sensors and cameras can cost a small fortune to replace and recalibrate, and on a lease the film helps you hand the car back without chip or crack charges. On a new car, it is a lot easier to protect clean factory glass than to replace it down the road.
Many comprehensive or glass policies help with repairing or replacing the windshield itself, but they usually do not cover the protection film. The upside is that the film helps you avoid the claim, the deductible, and the recalibration hassle in the first place. It is worth checking the details of your own coverage, since every policy is a little different.
No. It is a clear film applied to the outside of the glass, and it does not touch any of your vehicle's mechanical or electrical systems, so it has no effect on your factory warranty.
It starts from around $250, though the final price depends on your vehicle's glass and any sensor or camera areas that need extra care. We are happy to give you a free, firm quote for your exact vehicle before any work begins.
For most vehicles we have it done in about an hour. We would rather do it right than rush it, so we will give you a firm timeline along with your free quote.
Everyday care is easy: clean it gently with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner, keep your wiper blades in good shape, and use a fresh, smooth scraper in winter. And yes, when you want it gone or it is time for a fresh layer, we can remove it cleanly without harming the glass underneath.
