Questions about commercial & fleet graphics

Both — you can start with one van and add units as you grow, and we keep your artwork on file so every re-order and every new truck matches the ones already on the road. Whether it is a single work truck or a twenty-unit fleet, the process and the pricing start the same way.
There is no flat rate, because it depends on the size and shape of the vehicle, how much you cover (simple door lettering versus a partial or a full wrap), the number of units, and how much design time the artwork needs. Tell us what you drive and what you want it to say and we will put together a free, detailed quote — and if you are doing several vehicles, ask about volume pricing.
Usually, yes — a partial uses less material and less install time, so it costs less than covering the whole vehicle. A well-designed partial that pairs your logo, colours and message with the vehicle's own paint can look every bit as sharp as a full wrap for a smaller budget, and we are happy to show you both options on your quote.
Yes — we design from your logo and brand guidelines so your colours stay consistent across every vehicle, and because the same shop handles your signage too, your trucks and your storefront end up looking like one brand. If you do not have formal brand files, bring us what you have and we will work from there.
We design in-house, so you do not need to arrive with print-ready files — most customers just bring a logo and an idea of what they want the vehicle to do. If you already have artwork or an agency's files, we are glad to work from those and prep them for the vehicle.
We build fleet graphics from cast vinyl, which is made for years of daily driving — on a working vehicle you can typically expect around five to seven years, and often longer with good care. Sun exposure, frequent washing and whether the vehicle is parked inside all affect how long it keeps looking its best.
On factory paint that is in good shape, professionally installed vinyl comes off cleanly with heat and does not harm the finish — which is exactly why wraps and lettering are so popular on leased vehicles you will hand back. The one caution is repainted panels, older or already-failing paint, or aftermarket finishes, which can lift when any vinyl is removed; if that is a concern we will take a look first and let you know. When it is time to return the lease, bring it in and we will remove everything and clean up the adhesive.
For a local business it is one of the lowest-cost ways to advertise — industry studies from groups like the OAAA put the cost per thousand views of vehicle graphics well below billboards, radio or TV, largely because you already have the vehicle on the road. Those same studies suggest a wrapped vehicle can draw tens of thousands of views a day and that wraps are among the most-noticed forms of outdoor advertising, though real results depend on how much you drive and where. We would rather set honest expectations than promise a number, so think of it as steady, low-cost exposure every time your trucks are out working.
It depends on where you drive. In Ontario there is no requirement to letter your CVOR number on the outside of the truck — the certificate just has to be carried in the cab — but if your vehicles cross into the United States, U.S. federal rules require your legal business name and USDOT number shown on the vehicle. Many operators add their name and number either way because it looks professional; tell us how you run and we will set it out clearly and to size, and we would always suggest confirming the current rules for your specific operation.
Yes — we can work reflective vinyl into your lettering or accents so your branding stays visible after dark, and for trailers and larger trucks we can add DOT-style reflective conspicuity tape for night-time safety and visibility. Let us know if night visibility matters for your work and we will build it into the design.
Absolutely — box trucks and enclosed trailers are some of the best surfaces we work with, because those big flat panels give your message room to be seen from a distance. We handle everything from simple lettering on the doors up to full-coverage graphics on vans, box trucks, cube vans and trailers.
Magnets make sense if you want to take the branding on and off — say a personal vehicle you also use for work — but they only hold on flat steel panels, and they need to come off and be cleaned now and then so moisture does not get trapped underneath. Printed and cut vinyl is the more durable, professional choice: it follows the vehicle's curves, gives you far more design freedom, and stays put for years. We are happy to talk through which one fits how you actually use the vehicle.
Hand washing with mild soap and water is easiest on the vinyl, and a regular rinse of road salt and grime keeps the colours looking fresh through our Ontario winters. Skip harsh solvents and try not to aim a pressure washer straight at the edges, and where you can, a brushless or hand wash beats an automatic bay with stiff brushes. Parking inside when possible also helps the graphics last longer.
For a single vehicle, most jobs run from a few days to a couple of weeks once the design is approved, depending on how much coverage and design time it needs. For a fleet we schedule the vehicles in stages so you are never off the road with too many units at once, and because we keep your artwork on file, adding a new truck later is quicker since the design work is already done. We will give you a realistic timeline with your quote.
Most installs happen at our shop on Colby Drive in Waterloo, where the controlled, warm indoor space gives the vinyl its best bond — so the usual routine is to drop the vehicle off and pick it up once it is ready. For larger fleets we can talk through arrangements that keep your downtime low; just ask when you are booking and we will sort out what works.
